Annual Meeting Minutes
The 2011 Annual Meeting of the Iowa Holstein Auxiliary was called to order on Friday February 25, 2011 at the Holiday Inn, Dubuque, Iowa by President Jeanne Hansen with six members present. The secretary's minutes and treasurer's report were read, discussed, and approved. A CD is due for renewal and a motion was made and seconded to renew for another 12 months. Motion carried.

The new Auxiliary President will be Kathy Demmer and the Secretary Tammy Hammerand.

Two $500 scholarships well be awarded at the annual banquet. The recipients are Michael Bahl, son of Linda and Marty of Asbury, and Jessica Hammerand, daughter of Jeff and Tammy. The Hall of Fame Award will be presented to Dave Chapman. It was discussed that we will continue to fund the scholarships but will change the date of application to be due on February 1st. This way applications will be reviewed and winners presented at the end of the month at the annual banquet.

Janet Joachim was in charge of the princess contest, and we had one applicant and Abby Costello who will be crowned the 2011 Iowa Holstein Princess.

Kathy Demmer had information on making another cookbook prior to the 2014 National Convention. Motioned carried to go ahead with this project. Anyone interested in servng on the cookbook committee should please contact Kathy, otherwise she will start accepting recipes at her address or email.

Thank you to everyone who donated or purchased items at the Auxiliary's silent auction held at the 2011 Iowa Holstein Convention in Dubuque. A total of $649.50 was raised.

Iowa Holstein Auxiliary Scholarships
The deadline for the auxilaiary's scholarship applications is now Febraury 1 instead of August 1. An updated application will be available at www.iowa holsteins.com after the August Auxiliary meeting.

Dear Iowa Holstein Auxiliary,
Thank you for the $500 scholarship. I will use it to further my education in Animal Science at Iowa State. I hope to gain as much knowledge as I can to be the best person I can be.
